Many thanks for this overview! I found your explanations very clear and helpful, especially to understand the difference between xAPI and CMI5.
I would add that CMI5 also includes a "packaging" feature (to export content in a ZIP file which can be imported into an LMS). This is really important because packaging is not part of xAPI.
This can be a bit confusing because most of the early implementations of xAPI (usually called "TinCan") includes a "packaging" feature which come from the "TinCan" specification (the draft specification of xAPI). TinCan is not relevant anymore today, so CMI5 should replace it.
Do you know if Articulate plans to implement CMI5 in a near future?
