At Articulate, our customers are our top priority. Sometimes, we have to make tough decisions to continue bringing our customers the tools they need to train their teams. To focus our efforts on new Articulate 360 features—including powerful AI capabilities—we made the difficult call to stop selling Storyline 3 licenses on Dec. 31, 2023 and to stop supporting this legacy app on Dec. 30, 2024.

What Happens Next?

So what does that mean for Storyline 3 users after Dec. 30, 2024? It means that while Storyline 3 will likely continue to work in the short term, future operating system updates may cause the app to function unexpectedly or not at all.

It also means that we won’t be updating or supporting Storyline 3 after that date, beyond helping users reactivate the software with their serial number.

For these reasons, we recommend moving to Articulate 360, which includes the latest version of Storyline and offers continuous updates. To discuss your options for upgrading to Articulate 360, please reach out to our sales team.

Why We Think You’ll Love Articulate 360

The good news is that by switching to Articulate 360, you not only get all of the authoring capabilities you depend on in Storyline 3, you’ll also finally have access to the powerful features that are exclusive to Storyline 360—including the 65+ additions we’ve released since it launched as well as every new feature we include moving forward.

And that’s without considering all the additional products and features that come with your Articulate 360 subscription—like Rise 360, Review 360, Content Library 360, and Articulate 360 Training. These additional apps give you helpful new ways to create beautiful courses, collaborate with others, streamline your review and approval processes, and deepen your e-learning design and development skills.

But What About Security?

If you rely on Storyline 3 to create content in secure environments, don’t worry! Articulate 360 takes security and data protection seriously. It’s even gone through extensive security and risk assessment by the US federal government to become FedRAMP® Authorized, making it a great option for customers in government agencies and regulated industries. Check out our Trust Center to learn more about how we keep your data safe.

And if all that still isn’t enough to convince your IT department, we also have powerful service management features that can help you use Storyline 360 offline if need be. Check out this article on cloud-based service toggling.
