Rise 360: Branded Portfolio
Brand standards are sometimes seen as a frustrating limitation. But as this portfolio by Mat King shows, a more limited set of colors, fonts, and design choices doesn’t have to lead to dull-looking e-learning. In fact, those guidelines have the potential to help your project look pulled together while still leaving lots of room for creative choices.
Shared at DevLearn’s 2023 DemoFest, this Rise 360 project showcases the new technologies and design capabilities Mat and his team have used in their projects. The collection of images, interactions, and videos make it easy to see how branding guidelines apply to different mediums. They also demonstrate eye-catching ways to push the envelope within those rules. And by collecting these examples in a similarly branded Rise 360 course, course creators have a one-stop shop for ideas and inspiration!

- HamzaKhene-3ee8Community MemberHow did you add a video instead of a cover page?
- SamiraBougrine-Community MemberHi,
Great template. Is it possible to share the rise template to be able to see how you build it.
For example, what block did you choose to create the title Overview ?
- matkingCommunity MemberHi Sam, the animated blocks (overview) were made in After Effects and exported as animated gifs.
- JodiSansoneCommunity MemberThank you for sharing this. It reminds me to use Rise more often.
- EricMcArdle-6feCommunity MemberHamza - They're using a GIF file for the course image on the cover page. Go to course > Theme > Cover Page > click Edit on Course Image. From here you can add a GIF and it will show on your cover page. Hope that helps!
- HamzaKhene-3ee8Community MemberThank you Eric!
- BethanyMavro598Community MemberMat! This course is GORGEOUS. Love all the AE gifs. I wish we had a Synthesia account. I create courses in Storyline and dislike having to use Rise but you've really inspired me here!
- JuditRdmCommunity MemberI love the use of the color, fonts and all the graphics. Great inspiring job!
- AmandaEakinsCommunity MemberHi, I love this example. Rise is my favorite! I have been considering creating my own portfolio and worry about using samples from the courses that I have created, because of the company logo. Do you have any advice?
- matkingCommunity MemberHi Amanda. I created mine for WM to show clients what is possible. I changed most of the text to lorem ipsum to avoid showing any proprietary information. Hope this helps!

Did you use lorem ipsum as a font through Rise? What was the font of all your text in rise?
- BWoodsFormer StaffHi Amanda. Adding on to what Mat said, I've seen a lot of people make adapted versions of courses for their portfolios that change or strip out any proprietary or confidential company information.
I think lots of hiring managers recognize that we can't always show off all our work because of company privacy. And adapted courses that sidestep privacy problems but still show off your eLearning design and development skills will usually still give them the information they need to get a sense of your fit for their team.
- AmandaEakinsCommunity MemberThank you both for your response.
- JudeGegaCommunity MemberHow did you determine the resolution size of the video, Mat? And what's the aspect ratio did you use?
- matkingCommunity MemberIt takes a little trial and error to find the best size. My video sizes are 1920x1080. The animated gif banners are 1920x650.
- DoraKompordayCommunity MemberThis is the cooooooolest example that I've ever seen! AMAZING job!!!
