- I love this idea, however I cant download the template and open it in storyline to see how you have set it up triggers etc. Can you help me out?
I have storyline 2, do I need another version?- Hi Neilly, so happy you loved the template. It was done with Storyline 2. If you download the template, locate it in the folder of Articulate Projects > Storyline Templates and insert a new slide, it should let you open it with no problems. Are you doing this process?

I would suggest you download evaluation copy of SL2, then open Adriana's dot story file. Check out the structure and then implement in SL1. SL2 eval copy let's you operate it for at least a month.
The structure is not that complicated and if you get stuck, I (or the community) will jump in to assist.- Thank you so much Alphonso, great idea and will give it a go :)

Thanks for neat word search game. After promising Dorothy that I'm prepared to assist her, I decided to back engineer game from scratch. Then I discovered that the game has one small niggle. It allows learners to randomly click blocks, without aiming to search for specific word and after a while, when they "randomly" hit upon the correct keys, the word pops up. So they can literally find words without any cognitive volition on their part. I suggest that to improve this niggle, there should be an automatic reset after 12 keystrokes have been made. The longest word is butterflies (11 key strokes). This will prevent guessing. But maybe introduce other problems I have not yet considered.- I like your idea...what would your process be to implement the reset?

This is what is great about the community: everyone incorporates their own experiences and solutions to any material shared.
When we created the Word Search, we listed the specific words on the right side to guide learners. But of course, if you wish not to give so many clues, and you want learners to find hidden words, then the Reset option is great. Fantastic.

You have to change the letters in the slide, the triggers and then edit also the variables so they match your new words.

- Adriana, I was reaching out because I used this fantastic template to create my own. However, I was wondering if you could help me out with some how building a course reset. I want the course to reset after the user has clicked more than a certain amount so they don't just guess. Not sure how to go about setting up that variable (assuming thats what I would use)
- Hi Cody, I'm really sorry I have responded with so much delay.
You must create a numeric variable (we have called it Reset). This variable adds 1 value each time a letter is pressed. I have created an End layer, with a button that resets the course and in this case, it sends you to the slide.
In the base slide, there is a trigger that says to show the End layer, when the Reset variable is adjusted, if the variable is equal to a value (in the example I have set 2).
You should make the triggers of the missing letters (add) and decide what value you should have to show the layer.
