Powerpoint: Realistic Desktop Interaction

You've got to admit: flat design is hotter than a sidewalk in July. But sometimes flat is not where it's at and you need a little more realism to help immerse learners in your content. If you're on the hunt for something more realistic, give this new template a whirl!

Everything in this file has been created using simple drawing objects, color, and shading. This means you can adjust every attribute of every item pictured—colors, angles, shading, and sizing. This gives you a level of flexibility that's hard to obtain with stock photos.

Even better: download this template and snag just the bits and pieces you need by right-clicking on the grouped objects and selecting "Save As Picture." Or, use and customize these objects to create your own desktop interaction.

Enjoy!

Thanks, Dawn! Love it when folks pick up on my sense of humor. :-)
  • Very nice - I appreciate you sharing this. I like the items you created. I'll definitely be using this template!

You're very welcome, Teri. Glad I was able to give you something useful!
  • This is excellent! I absolutely love it. Is there a link to 'how-to' turn flat objects into realistic ones or any tips? I am looking for some 'realistic' tech, like a cell phone, or pens/highlighters, etc. but can't find any so I thought I would try to create my own.

Hi Maryanne. Thanks for the lovely compliment.

I know we've got a few articles and videos on how to make flat graphics, but I don't know that we have anything on how to create your own realistic graphics. I will add your request to our editorial calendar and make a note to ping you here when I've got something posted. Thanks for the great idea!
