  • I really liked how you presented your ideas by using a variety of blocks, your interactive activities make it very engaging. Well done!

Hello! Great example! I was wondering, do all projects have to start with the page that says 'Start' and 'Details'? Or is that page a starter from being an example here? We're thinking of an idea for Rise but we would like to be able to choose a different set-up as the first thing a customer would see when in the training. Thank you!
  • Love this example and exactly what I'm looking for. Question: we've been using GIFs for very brief software demos but are now being told that GIFs are not considered accessible.

What is the Articulate team's approach to this? Thanks in advance!

Karen—this is a great question! Here at Articulate (and in the E-Learning Heroes community), we love using GIFs, too! As a best practice, for any GIFs that are longer than 5 seconds, you need to give learners (or readers) a way to pause the media. In newer ELH articles, you'll notice that our GIFs are now looping videos (here's an example article: https://community.articulate.com/articles/7-reasons-stakeholders-love-review-360). You should be able to use any screen recording software (Peek 360 is perfect for this!) to record your "GIF," and then upload your video to a video-hosting platform where you can choose relevant settings (like looping the video).

I hope this is helpful! In the meantime, we'll make sure to update the GIFs in this article and example project :) Let us know if you have any other questions!

Thanks for that, Madison! We're using Rise, so how would we do looping videos? Would we have to use Vimeo, for example, to do that in Rise? Currently, we use Camtasia to record demos so I'll look into that.

        Does Rise have this ability?

Thanks again! It's the right road to go down if we want to have gifs AND be a11y!
  • This is a really good example! Are there any more of such examples from rise that we could look at or any similar templates that are available?

Hi Sonam! I'm so glad you found this example helpful! I believe this is the only Rise 360 software training example we have right now. But, if you're looking for more inspiration, I'd recommend posting in our Building Better Courses forum (https://community.articulate.com/forums/building-better-courses) to see if any other community members have some projects/ templates they may be willing to share!

Really like the use of GIFs. I'm interested to know what you use to create such high-quality GIFs? How did you get a screen recording into a GIF and still keep so much quality? Thanks!
    • Hi Lewin! I often use Zight to quickly create GIFs that I use in my projects: https://zight.com/gif-maker/

Alternatively, I've had great success when using video to create the "illusion" of a GIF. You can use any video creation software (I usually use Peek 360). From there, I upload the .mp4 to a video hosting site like Wistia that allows me to adjust the video settings. I can set the video to continuously loop and autoplay so it appears like a GIF! To see an example of what I mean, take a look at the "GIFs" in this article. They're actually just continuous videos: https://community.articulate.com/articles/8-business-use-cases-for-microlearning
  • I enjoyed your training and it gave me some ideas for a series I am working on! I didn't know that you can lock down quizzes and activities to make them required! I also didn't know that you could set a passing score. Is there a way to require learners to recomplete the quiz if they don't pass? Are results tabulated? Thank you!
  • Hello Madison and thank you for sharing the course.

Just wanted to ask how long it took to put this together?

    Many thanks,

    David

Hi David! I’m glad you found the example helpful :) It’s been quite a while since I originally created this course, but if I remember correctly I think it initially took me about a week to create this course. Keep in mind, I wasn’t solely focused on course creation during that time (I had other responsibilities and tasks that I was juggling). All that to say, I think the majority of my time was focused on creating the content plan and assets (recording GIFs, taking screenshots, etc.). Putting it all together in Rise 360 was quite easy!

Thank you again for sharing, will be using this to create some training for some of the software our staff use.
  • I love this software tutorial and am embarking on creating my first for Salesforce training and would love this template to start from - unfortunately when I click the link to obtain a copy, it's just clocking in my Rise 360 library. Is the template no longer available?

I know you posted this question in another discussion, but answering here as well in case others run into the same issue! After you click on the copy link, you’ll just need to refresh your Rise 360 dashboard! After that, you should see the template!

Good luck with your Salesforce training :)
  • Hi Madison, great course! How did you create the cover page image with Trello being the website on the computer screen?

Hey Lisa! That was actually an image from Content Library 360! I didn’t need to do any editing. I think I just searched “Trello.”
