Storyline: Employee Conversation Branching Scenario

Prompting learners to practice navigating difficult conversations through e-learning is an excellent way to help boost their confidence—and get it right in real life. In this inspiring example featuring a Storyline 360 branching scenario, learners take on the role of a manager and try to uncover why an employee is showing up to work late.     For more information on Interactive Storytelling, I would definitely recommend checking out eLearning Secrets with Anna Sabramowicz and Ryan Martin. I took their course and they helped me work on this to make it the best interactive narrative it could be.

    I love this, Eva. I ESPECIALLY loved that it went back and reviewed my decisions. That feedback was essential; I would not have learned as much without it. I got through the scenario the first time with a happy ending, but in fact one or two of my choices were not the best possible choice. This made me want to re-do the scenario with different choices, which gave me better feedback and absolutely reinforced the learning. You put a lot of work into this -- fantastic job!

      I agree, having your choices analyzed at the end is a great addition to a great scenario. Can you let me know how you /did this at the back end?

        Number variables track your answers on the question slides. These same variables also will change the state of the feedback text at the end.

        So when you assign a number to the variable depending on a user's choice, you will call on that same variable to change the state of the text box (or the feedback) on the final slides.

    Great job on this Eva! Anytime you do scenarios like this there are always logic issues to workout which if not executed correctly can make your entire project obsolete. I saw none.
