I Samara! I am currently getting my Master's Degree from ACE in Instructional Design and Technology. I am currently a kindergarten teacher but am looking to move to a remote position or just do something different. For my current class, we were directed to explore courses on here and I chose yours. Here is my review of your course that I shared with my classmates in a discussion group. I love your course!
The first thing I always notice is when something catches my eye. I don’t even see text; I just see an image that draws me in. I was drawn to a dark screen with light green text. Once I looked closer, I saw that it was a journey: Mori’s Journey (which intrigued me). Who doesn’t like a quest? It reminded me of a Renaissance festival or Robinhood. The learning objectives are clearly written out in a description of the course on the main page. The course was very interactive and fun! It was set up almost like a video game. It reminded me of games I used to play on my old Apple 2GS computer. If you click on one button it takes you somewhere but if you click on a different button it takes you somewhere else. You are on a quest to gain the trust of the main character of a story. Little items pop up to click on as you go. The directions are clearly stated or pointed out by something shiny or an arrow, so you know where to click next. The course design was clear. As the learner, I knew my mission or quest. It was interactive, user-friendly, and very engaging! I learned as I went deeper into the quest. When you click on a correct answer you get a ‘well done’ with an explanation plus some points. There is no wrong answer, but you are trying to gain the trust of the main character by asking certain questions. You cannot learn more until you gain the trust of the main character of the story. For best practices in this course, the objectives were clearly stated, the content was real-world in that you would need similar experience to gain someone’s trust in real life, and this course was diverse because it was a demo that required decision-making to proceed and could be viewed on any type of device (cell phone, laptop, tablet etc.)
