See this tutorial: https://community.articulate.com/articles/adding-and-editing-states on it states that Storyline outlines each object on the slide as you scroll through them.
Select the button and look at its states and you should be able to edit its text.

- Is this template for Storyline 2 or 3? I cannot access it using Storyline 2
- Hey! I'm not sure but I can open it in storyline 3 and it is amazing.
- Never mind, I figured it out. It was built on widescreen format, I was trying to insert it into a standard format. When I imported to a widescreen, it worked just fine. DUH! Don't mind me, sometimes I'm an idiot! lol. At least I was correct in assuming it was user error.
