I am a recent Instructional Design and Technology graduate and this is my first time sharing on E-learning Heroes. =) I've been browsing all of your work and it's honestly been very inspiring. I've just started a project with the Lupus Foundation of America and have created a few interactive graphics, including an interactive map of Florida.
So, this week, my challenge was to add interactivity and layering to a map geared for easy user-navigation with the purpose of guiding the user to information or the option of opening a specific URL/website.
I would love any and all feedback. Thank you in advance! =)

- Ron_Katz5 years agoCommunity MemberThe detail work on the maps (outlining and highlighting) is excellent. Very professional presentation. Keep up the great work and welcome to the eLearning Heroes comminity.

- JodiSansone5 years agoCommunity MemberWelcome to the challenges! I agree with Ron's comment too. I have a few easy suggestions that might your map a little more impactful. How about a little hover effect on each county--and when you click, that's when the info pops up? Maybe add a click to for reinforcing the choice? I like audio reinforcement as long as it's not annoying, but I overdo it on occasion. And I in simple one slide interaction, I always get rid of the menu on the left so my layout will fill up the page. Good luck on your project!

- PaolaRattu-ea2f5 years agoCommunity MemberHi Lindsay, welcome to the challenges! I like the map, but as Jodi I recommend you to add some hover effects on the map. Instead of launching a website straight away once the user clicks on the map, I'd suggest to add the link in the popup (ex.: use a button).
- RemaMerrick-aa05 years agoCommunity MemberHi Lindsay - I like the change of state/hot space that occurs when I click on a certain part of the map.
- VeronicaBudnika5 years agoSuper HeroWelcome to the challenges Lindsay! I really liked your interactive map idea :)
- LindsayGarcia-b5 years agoCommunity MemberI updated it with everyone's input, however am having an issue. Now that they are highlighted when hovering, once clicked, I move the mouse to access the text box, but if I hover over another area, it highlights that area and goes back to the main screen. To make the highlights, I put each one on a separate layer. Any advice?
