Explore Sedona

When you live in a tourist town you get a lot visitors and questions about what to do, so now I have a tool to give people a feel for Sedona. This demo was inspired by scrapbook kits you see in craft stores. And I used a hover effect on my photos that I recall from one of the early Articulate Live sessions I attended way back in 2017 or 2018--David maybe you remember that one? You used a hover-fade effect that you tried to simulate from a website. I haven't used it in awhile. Have a good week everyone!

- Ron_Katz4 years agoCommunity MemberGreat pictures and interactions. I love the bonus photo with the transitions on each mouseover. The design aspects were as expected (Wonderful!). Thanks for sharing your inspiration! For several of the photos I thought I was playing "Where's Waldo" with Jodi S. :)
- SamaraReyneke-24 years agoCommunity MemberI really enjoyed the look and feel of this one. And as always, your sound effects add so much more depth to the experience.
- SamantaChittoli4 years agoCommunity MemberBeautiful, inspiring, and very informative. Loved it!
- Ange4 years agoCommunity MemberWonderful. Thank you. Another place I want to visit.
- GunjanBhatta2924 years agoCommunity MemberLoved the mouse over interaction and the BG music Jodi. Wondering about the background and the stitched button, though; did you download the image from somewhere? What was the thought process when you selected the background?
- JodiSansone4 years agoCommunity MemberHi Gunjan. Thanks for asking. The assets I used for this project came from digital scrapbook kits I found on Etsy. Some people create these very elaborate physical photo scrapbooks and you can find the visuals online or you can buy the physical kits in a store. The kits contain backgrounds, letters, and embellishments. I had a vision of this collage as kind of hippie-boho-southwestern :). The only downside of using art from these kits in Storyline is that the files are very big--I guess they are designed for high quality printing. I had to reduce the size on all of them. Here's a link to an example: https://etsy.me/2Q6L6MH
- JenifferBrubake4 years agoCommunity MemberVery nice! I love the background music and how the images change when you hover over them in the info slides.
- LisaNicholson-44 years agoCommunity MemberLove the beautiful graphics! The background graphics with the feathers really set up the tone and feel. The mouseover photo changes were a nice touch. I visited Sedona several years ago and this brought back many great memories.
- GabriellaGrimal4 years agoCommunity MemberLove this concept/theme Jodi!
Also, where do you get your sound effects from? I've been looking for a place and I know that would make my samples so much better. Thanks!- JodiSansone4 years agoCommunity MemberFrom all over the place, Gabriella :) Sometimes I use Freesound.org, which Jonathan Hill recommended some time back. Sometimes I get them from my Storyblocks.com account. And sometimes I make them myself. Storyblocks has quite a library of music and sound effects. I usually find something there.
- LarryTurner-fd64 years agoCommunity MemberI love the theme, look and feel of this. I used to live in Blythe, CA a few years back, and I took a trip up to Sedona, trading one desert for another...lol I must say that it is absolutely beautiful in Sedona and you did well in capturing an essence to share with the community.
