Update: With the help of Sunet and Carrie I was able to make the adjustments I wanted (mostly - not sure my variables will work in every clicking pattern). Thank you so much!!! Here is the updated version:

It's been awhile! I was inspired by everyone's travel themed games, so I came up with my own. I would like to think Jackie Van Nice especially, as she has a similar travel trivia game that heavily inspired me here: https://www.jackievannice.com/?page_id=175068527
So here's mine - Help Mindy collect souvenirs on her trip to Japan! It was fun to get back into things and refresh my memory while learning how to do something new :)
Here is my entry: https://go.aws/35Fuqin
I had a few issues with it and would love any help on these things:
For the life of me I could not get the "souvenirs" to fly into the screen along with the circle behind it. I was only able to do this for the "daruma doll" souvenir, but couldn't get it for the others.
I also wanted the character Mindy to say a new phrase once all the souvenirs are visible on the map, but I could not figure this out. If it helps, all the questions are layers, so the whole project only has 3 slides, with several layers and state changes.
I can upload the SL file, but I don't remember how to do that either... so if someone has help with that too, that would be awesome!

- SunetSullivan-75 years agoCommunity MemberSuper cute graphics and design Natalie, I love the bold colours!
If you want your objects to fly in together you could try to make them into one object by placing the image within the normal state of the circle. Just cut the image, click the circle, then click edit states on the circle and paste onto your normal state. If you put the animation on the circle then, it should work.
I also think you could probably use a number variable to trigger the phrase you want Mindy to say. Add a number variable with a value of 0, then add a variable to each object state to add a point when that state is visited and then a trigger to change the state of your speechbubble from hidden to visible when the number variable reaches 6 points.- NatalieBudesa5 years agoCommunity MemberThank you so much Sunet! I was able to fix my souvenir badges based on your advice. I still couldn't figure out the variables... I think if you complete the top most souvenir last the variables work, but if you click the objects in a different order it doesn't. It's okay though, I'm pretty happy with how much I learned still :)
- CarrieGauthier-5 years agoCommunity MemberWow, love the visuals for this! They fit the theme and make the course super engaging. Really nice job.
I agree with Sunet's suggestions. You could also use individual true/false variables on each layer (change Variable to True when timeline starts on this layer). I've occasionally struggled with using number variables in this type of scenario because, depending on how you set it up, if a user is able to click a question twice the variable might get thrown off, that's what I found in my submission this week, but it could be how I had it set up.
Really nice work, I look forward to seeing more :)- NatalieBudesa5 years agoCommunity MemberThank you so much Carrie!! I have to admit the variables didn't make a lot of sense to me. I think I managed to set it so if you complete the top most souvenir last the variables work, but if you click the objects in a different order it doesn't. I'm still fairly pleased with this project, so thank you for the encouragement :)
