This week, I made an interactive animated video to show you how to make my favorite apple pie. Throughout the tutorial, click on the icons to trigger lightboxes that have tips and information about the recipe. Lightboxes are also used to review the ingredients at any time during the video and the recipe at the end.
I really enjoyed putting this together to practice Storyline, Vyond, and my narration skills. :) Thanks in advance for taking the time to check it out.

- KatelinJordan4 years agoCommunity MemberBoy, someday I would LOVE to talk to you. This rocks! I am not there yet in SL!
- KOsunero4 years agoCommunity MemberAbsolutely! :)
I never really made anything like this before last weekend and it was the first time I've used the cue points feature. Reading this thread helped me think through how to put this together: https://community.articulate.com/discussions/building-better-courses/sharing-and-seeking-ideas-for-making-videos-more-interactive- KatelinJordan4 years agoCommunity MemberOoh, thanks for sharing!
- GlenWild4 years agoCommunity MemberReally enjoyed your demo.
- Ange4 years agoCommunity MemberImpressive step-by-step and integration of Vyond. The voice-over fits really well with the whole presentation, well done.
- DanSweigert4 years agoCommunity MemberKimberly, well done. I liked the little geometric objects moving about in the background as an added touch.
- KOsunero4 years agoCommunity MemberThanks! Wish I could take credit but it's a premade background in Vyond.
- TracyCarroll4 years agoCommunity MemberLoved it!
- SaraWildman-9994 years agoCommunity MemberI second everyone else's comments! The animation, layout, voiceover and lightboxes work so well together. Also, the amount of interaction is perfect. I feel very hesitant posting this critique because it's really an above-and-beyond demo, but the only thing that stood out was the lack of music when the lightboxes opened. Is there a way to continue the music?
- KOsunero4 years agoCommunity MemberThanks for the kind words, Sara! Just want to start by saying that I think this is safe space for discussions, questions, and constructive criticism. All feedback is appreciated! :)
I totally agree that having the music play throughout would improve the demo. The way that this is programmed is to have both the video and the timeline pause when selecting the icons so that the remaining icons appear in sync with the video. I have the music playing in the video since it was easier to have it loop seamlessly in Vyond vs. Storyline. I would love to know if anyone has a workaround for this? (It's probably something simple that I haven't thought of!)- Ange4 years agoCommunity MemberHi KImberly, re: continuous music, how about looping the music on a master slide, it may do the trick.
- JeffreyRiley-9e4 years agoCommunity MemberThere are so many ways to make interactive video in Storyline it makes my head swim. I have seen others use Vyond but this seemed to be a different approach that was very effective. The link you have in your reply message is something I had not seen before. Thanks.
