Hello!
Waaaay back during Challenge #237 ('Interactive Maps') I used Storyline's 'Carmen' character to create my own spin on the classic Carmen Sandiego games.
For this week's challenge I've given that design an interactive video upgrade!

This maybe also qualifies for the Lightbox, Brutalist and Knuffle Bunny challenges?

- Jonathan_Hill2 years agoSuper HeroThanks all. I've updated my original post with a download link, so you can see how I overcame the lag on the cue points with a freeze frame.
Any questions, drop me a line. - Jonathan_Hill2 years agoSuper Hero
I'm still tinkering with the master file but I will share it soon. I found on mobile devices and slower Internet connections the cue points were unreliable, and the video was stopping in the wrong place and missing each destination.
To overcome this, I briefly mask the video with a freeze frame image to ensure it stops in exactly the right place with the reveal of each city.
I ripped the freeze frames from the video using Camtasia. The video is CC0 Royalty Free from Pixabay, so I didn't get to choose the cities. The colour scheme and style of the video also shaped the overall aesthetic of this demo.- Ange2 years agoCommunity MemberOoh! I like that, very cool!
- jessicasusila2 years agoCommunity MemberI love it, Jonathan! Great video, and I love the integration between the questions & map.
I agree with you on the cue points issue; I'm also experiencing this. They stop at different times from what was originally designated in the story file. Especially on mobile devices, it's way off. Thank you for sharing your solution to the problem. - TracyCarroll2 years agoCommunity MemberI think I missed this the first time around--I'm glad you brought it back! This was a fun game, and I was shocked at how many questions I got right, considering I'm not exactly a constant world traveler.

If you could share the image source? I wanted more of the mystery :)
