I've noticed a lot of times the coherence principle gets violated when IDs start to incorporate storytelling or branching scenarios into their e-learning courses and get bogged down in extraneous detail. Here's a the long-winded "before" version:

Very clever to knockout the extraneous stuff i.e. Phil has been blah blah for 30 yrs
When I work with SMEs I call this avoiding the "Jeopardy" content, you know trivial stuff ; )
