We scheduled a tour to watch up to 10 million bats exit a maternity cave at sunset tonight -- a new adventure to kick off our Father's Day weekend. I hope to do some research today before the tour to gain a greater appreciation for what we'll witness.

Never made it out to a bat cave before. I’d be interested to hear how it went!

  It was pretty amazing. Over a period of two hours, we watched three rounds of bat flights out of the cave. Some of us got misted by the mama bats who were using the loo on the wing. We were the last family to leave and had individual time with the guide, who regaled us with some great bat puns right before we drove home around 10 pm.

Especially love the bat theme. The Echo effect really enhances it. This was great to go through, well done and immerses you into the bat experience. My license plate is BATFAN. I am fond of Batman and bats of course.

  How cool! I have a Batman t-shirt that says, "I love the night life" that I unfortunately did not wear to the bat flight event as a courtesy to my family. lol

Nice! Love the design and the subject matter. When I lived in Texas many years ago, I was a caver.

  I salute your bravery in having been a caver. I've only been on guided tours through caves thus far, but who knows what the future will bring. Do you have a favorite cave you'd be able to share?
