I'm guessing it's gradual state changes or we're looking through a cutaway mask and what we're seeing is a linked slider move across in the background through the person shaped hole?

However Montse has achieved this, it's beautifully done.

Hi Nicki - The effect is created by using 2 sliders (the slider you see and drag) and another slider that's filled with the purple shape. Both sliders are assigned the same variable value so the both control one another. The shape filling effect was created by using a masking effect layered above the second slider.
