Bonjour Heroes.
I'm not very familiar with Design Themes because, as Jonathan and Jodi and Julie said, every project is special. However, I'd like to share with you something I do first every time I start a project. For me, with my own way of thinking and doing, it's a great time saver. I create a master slide mask (only one if possible, from an empty master slide) containing everything the slides will share: essential buttons, recurring layers, progress bar, timer, rewards, Menu, instructions, etc... and as many elements as possible. This is my first step. The advantage is obvious: if you need to change 1 thing, it will be the same for all 200 screens in your project.
I'm curious to know if you share this method.
(NB: little graphical effort in this demo. Mostly technical. File.story downloadable from Review)

- JulieBIGOT-27937 months agoCommunity MemberThanks for the file! I had so much trouble with this but I see now you change your states depending on the variables with the "chronology reaches 0.01s" trigger! That's why it didn't seem to work for me.
May I ask about the two rectangles on your master slide ? :D What do you use these for?- ThierryEMMANUEL7 months agoCommunity MemberYes, Julie. I can't use the order of the triggers because the "do something when this slide's timeline starts" trigger is on the master slide, and the other "do something when this slide's timeline starts" is on the current slide. SL chooses the master slide first, while I want the other. (This is not the only case: I've seen several times that if too many connected things start "when the timeline starts", some never do, even if you use the order of the triggers).
For the 2 blue rectangles: absolutely useless (except for setting elements on transparent layers). I forgot to clean up the mess before I left. :-)
- Ange7 months agoCommunity MemberFantastic! I have a similar method - it really is a great time-saver, but I had never considered using layers on a master slide. Thanks for sharing your file. I look forward to digging into it.
