This summer I was introduced to the art of Bisa Butler. Here is a tribute to her beautiful work featuring a scroll panel and a scroller web object I built in Juxtapose. I hope you enjoy learning about Butler and her fabric art. This piece portrays Harriet Tubman.
Here's a link to Juxtapose if you want to check it out: https://juxtapose.knightlab.com/#make

#200!
- JodiSansone3 years agoCommunity MemberHey Ron, thanks for the kind words. I thought you would like to see this demo Larry Van Wave did for me on this quilt: https://jodisdemos.s3.amazonaws.com/VanWave+Bisa+/JodiSample1.html
He did a demo a couple weeks back on how to examine and grade clothing for sorting and it had this close up effect. I asked him to show me how he did it and he used this quilt as a demo. Larry rocks! I'm still learning how to replicate his files, but it lets you see the true detail. I think I could use it as another web object in this demo, so maybe I'll revise it later.- Ron_Katz3 years agoCommunity MemberVery cool. Thanks for the share.
- larryvanwave-ff3 years agoCommunity MemberThank you for the shout out! I am always learning something new from your hero challenges and thankful for the times we have been able to connect! Your amazing!
- Ron_Katz3 years agoCommunity MemberThis is a wonderful lesson. Also thanks for the link to the Smithsonian. Being able to zoom and and really enjoy Bisa's work allows you to see the true detail of the work (something unavailalbe in the Jaxtapose.)
- Jonathan_Hill3 years agoSuper HeroInteresting (and relevant to the topic) use of Juxtapose as a Web object. Really works well here. Will have go check out Juxtapose for myself.
- JodiSansone3 years agoCommunity MemberJuxtapose is a little fussy. I find my links get broken or the slide doesn't load 100% of the time, but it's still fun to play with.
- KarinLorbeck3 years agoCommunity MemberCongrats on #200! I always learn something from your posts - both from the content and how it's presented.

- JodiSansone3 years agoCommunity MemberThank you all. I remember when posted my first one on proper food cooking temperatures. I'm afraid to look at it now, but I might tune it up to see if I've learned anything.
- Yvonne3 years agoCommunity MemberHappy 200th challenge submission, Jodi! I am amazed by your commitment and look forward to what's to come.
Thank you for sharing about Bisa Butler and Juxtapose. I'm curious to further explore each. :) - maren_west3 years agoCommunity MemberCongrats on 200 Jodi! Thanks for sharing this project and introducing me to Bisa Butler! Her work is incredible
