Rise

This quarter, Rise is the star of the show with five powerful new features. We’ve included the highlights below, but if you’d like to check out the full list, head over to the Rise Version History.

AI Course Drafts

Starting a course from scratch can feel overwhelming. With AI Course Drafts, you don’t have to feel that way. Save yourself time and effort by uploading a source document or starting with a prompt.

From there, Rise will ask follow-up questions about the audience, tone, learning objectives, and more to better understand your project. You can fill in as much or as little as you want,  and Rise will generate a complete first draft on any topic—complete with interactivity and knowledge checks.

This step-by-step approach helps AI Assistant generate a higher-quality first draft, so you spend less time reviewing and refining afterward.

Custom Block

Can’t find the perfect block for your course? Now, you’ll never face that roadblock again. With the new Custom Block feature, you can take control of your course design by starting with a blank canvas or customizing one of the expertly designed templates. Simply drag, drop, and arrange course elements like text, media, and shapes to create unique layouts—without ever leaving Rise. It’s that easy! With more customization options than ever, this is truly your course, your way.

Code Block

Tailoring your courses to specific learning needs just got easier. With this new feature, you can code any interaction imaginable—directly in Rise. Simply choose the Code Block option, enter or upload your custom HTML, CSS, or JavaScript code, and ta-da! You added a totally custom interaction into your Rise course.

Authoring Customization Enhancements

Want more customization options? You’ve got it! Now you have even more control over important details like font sizes, button alignment, numbering, and more, so you can achieve the exact look you're going for. You can find all these new customization enhancements in your block settings.

Localization

To drive real results globally, there’s nothing more important than empowering learners with training that speaks their language. That’s why we’ve continued to innovate, learn, and iterate since we launched Articulate Localization. Check out the Localization Version History to see other improvements.

Multiple Glossaries

For admins working with multiple teams, brands, or programs, having only one glossary of translated terms doesn't cut it. Luckily, with this new feature, admins can upload multiple glossaries directly to the account dashboard. Then, when you translate a course, simply select the appropriate glossary to apply from the drop-down menu.

Finally, there’s an easy way to ensure that specialized terms are always translated correctly, no matter how many different teams you're creating courses for. What a relief!

Course Updates in Review

If you've updated a localized course, you know how challenging it can be to get the new content reviewed and approved. Having to manually point out content changes to validators isn’t ideal and can slow down the review process for everyone. Now, validators can skip straight to new or updated translations with a guided workflow. What a timesaver!

Translate More Languages

More languages? Avec plaisir! This quarter, we’re dropping 10+ new language options so you can expand the impact of your training. Simply navigate to the language dropdown menu to translate your course in the language you need.

Reach

Distributing training quickly can be a challenge —unless you have Reach. With Reach, it's easy to publish, share, and track learner progress without the LMS headaches. Read on to learn more about our newest features in Reach. Check out the Reach Version History to see other improvements.

Custom Email Domains

Sick of Reach notifications ending up in learners' spam folders? Don’t worry—we’ve got a fix! You can now customize the “send from” email domain so your email client—and your learners—recognize the importance of those messages. Simply head to the manage tab in Reach, choose the option to use your own email domain, and set your custom email domain there. Done and done!

Will text in custom blocks and code blocks be included with an XLIFF export for translation? I love the design opportunities of these new features, but want to ensure I'm not going to hit any roadblocks when I'm translating my course into other languages.  Thanks!

I would like to know the same thing.

  • Hi KristaM and MJ81! While I don't have a timeline to share for when Custom Blocks will be included when translating Rise 360 courses, it is a functionality our team is actively researching. In the meantime, using the XLIFF based translation workflow does include Custom Blocks for translating. We'll keep you updated in this discussion if we have any updates on this feature!

Hi LaurenDuvall, just to clarify: when using XLIFF-based translation, Custom Blocks will be included, but Code Blocks won't be?  Is that correct?

Quick question--I just started experimenting with the new Rise AI feature that allows you to drop in a Storyline file and convert it to Rise. When we do this, are all the slide notes taken into consideration as well as the slide content? I have a set of files that uses the notes panel as a transcript. I don't want to lose all the concepts in the notes as my course is for legal compliance with financial securities laws. When I convert it to Rise with AI, will all the content be considered in the new rendering of the Rise course? I really like this feature and want to use it to update some old courses that need a refresh.

  • Hello JodiSansone

I can confirm that slide notes are considered when using Storyline project files as source material. You'll want to be sure that in the section to Describe your course,  you mention using the .story file and specifically your slide notes as content to help guide AI Course Drafts. Here's a closer look at my example, where I mentioned both dogs and cats in the slide notes of a sample project file.

I understand it's important that you keep the concepts of your course as you migrate over to Rise 360. If you're still having trouble, we'd be happy to take a closer look at your .story project file to test this on our end in a support case.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Thank you for explaining that to me. I will make sure to follow your advice on the prompts. On my first try I did not add the prompt to consider all the notes. I just attached the file. I will go the extra step and see what happens. Thank you!

  • Hello KristaM

Yes, that is correct! When using XLIFF-based translation in Rise 360, Custom Blocks are indeed included in the translation process. However, Code Blocks are not translated using the XLIFF export method. If you need to translate code blocks, you might need to handle them separately outside of the XLIFF process.

  • Hello, it would be nice to be able to import questions banks in Rise 360. We have a lot of them on other tools and were are on the way to migrate all of them into Rise. I hope its coming soon :) Thanks.
