Here’s a cool little trick that can save you a ton of time in Storyline.
You know how drag-and-drop interactions usually involve making a bunch of duplicate objects? That’s fine if you’ve only got a few drag items, but if you’re working with a lot of objects, your slide and trigger count can get overwhelming.
That’s where the 0-pixel motion path comes in. It lets you use just one object and have it reset itself after each drag-drop event.
Key Points
- Saves time and simplifies slide objects: Instead of creating dozens of draggable items, you can reuse a single object.
- Reset objects without duplicates: A 0-px motion path automatically returns an object to its starting position, making it feel like a new object without duplication.
- Great for high-volume interactions: Perfect for interactions involving large quantities like dragging multiple sugar cubes into a drink to reveal its sugar content, or adding different hard drives into a virtual RAID calculator to explore storage capacity.
