Redesigning Corporate Slides

Hi Friends, I think I might be late to the party on this challenge, but wanted to share!

No surprise that I spent some time today redesigning a slide deck at work and figured this would qualify as a 5 minute makeover! A few things I'd like to mention:

The amount of text on the original slides is CRAZYYYYY, like unacceptable, but I was asked to leave the copy mostly as is despite my reminders regarding accessible text and content retention. Convincing others to decrease word count is an uphill battle sometimes (most of the time)..

The template was chosen prior to my involvement, so within those constraints and a short timeline, we gotta do what we can! *shrug*

Who else spend a lot of time redesigning slide decks when they'd rather be building something engaging in Storyline or Rise?! LOL If I'm being very real here, I get frustrated that folks in corporate often disregard my expertise and cram 6,874 words on one slide and wonder why nobody retains the information! Woof.

Well, with that said, I was given the slides on the left and my versions are on the right. Not perfect, but we can't always be!

  • I so feel your pain! In the real world, we don't often get to make cute little "how to make a cappuccino" interactions. 95% of my work is very close to what you have here.

However, this is where the challenge comes in: to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, and I think you have done a great job. There is nothing wrong with working with a ton of constraints; it actually makes us step up and be even more creative.

    Well done!
