1. Share 3 changes you made to the Rise AI Course Draft to improve learner engagement. Why did you make those changes to your project? Be specific!
- I added audio throughout the course for those auditory learners and bolded key terms for easy reading
- I added images using the AI image prompts and added the desired color hue to include in the image (tried to keep the images consistent throughout the course)
- I added an AI Avatar video to open the course and used the Branding feature
2. Which AI feature or capability was most valuable in your workflow, and why? Did anything about it surprise you?
- I found the AI audio generator helpful and easy to use
- The AI image prompt generator feature helped with getting the right images for the concept being discussed. I didn't realize how much better the images come out with the "right" AI image prompt.
3. What challenges did you face when trying to get AI to produce the results you wanted?
- Previewing the images and looking for extra hands or weird writing was time consuming and funny at times
- NickiMeyers-782Community Member
I love the AI Avatar video! Could you share how you created it?
- BelleHabsCommunity Member
Hi Nicki,
It's part of Articulate Lab. Your account admin has to enable the feature. You get a certain amount of credit to create these. Here's a Knowledge Article with more information:

This is great with the use of audio and consistent formatting. I agree on the AI images, I always write in the Custom description: "NO WORDS, PHRASES, or TEXT in the picture". See if that helps!
- BritMazCommunity Member
I really liked all the images that you included and how everything was on theme. Also, the use of the Labs features like the avatar video and branding were really cool to see in practice.

- Share 3 changes you made to the Rise AI Course Draft to improve learner engagement. Why did you make those changes to your project? Be specific!
- I used the "change tone" prompt to make introductory text engaging and inspiring to draw the learner in and make it relevant to their role as a new manager.
- I added explicit instructions for interactive blocks to direct learners how to complete activities. I also added logical transitions between blocks and topics in order to move the learner seamlessly through the content.
- I like a mix of visual elements and text, so I added several AI generated images throughout the course to break up text and activity blocks.
- Which AI feature or capability was most valuable in your workflow, and why? Did anything about it surprise you?
- Having the AI-generated course outline was incredibly helpful. I love that you can upload source documents and generate an outline in minutes!
- I really like using the "change tone" prompt to revise existing text. It was helpful to refine language to a particular audience.
- I was also surprised by the quality of the AI-generated knowledge checks and quiz questions. What a great time saver!
- What challenges did you face when trying to get AI to produce the results you wanted?
- As others have mentioned, I have a bit of a learning curve with the AI image generation. It usually takes me a couple of times to refine an image to what I want. I do find the AI image prompt generator very helpful when I'm not really sure where to start.
- JennieHartman-ePeer Guide
Great Job! This really looks and feels like the content. You can change the look and feel of the fonts to point out the keywords; nice balance in the content. Remember, you can also use the AI voice to create some audio where the learner doesn't need to read as much. Nice Job!

Share 3 changes you made to the Rise AI Course Draft to improve learner engagement. Why did you make those changes to your project? Be specific!
I changed the Practice 1 lesson's tone to include humor. Really appreciate the flexibility with the tool!
Which AI feature or capability was most valuable in your workflow, and why? Did anything about it surprise you?
I really like the image generation feature - not having to store art offline then upload each image will be a time saver. And the images generated have nice variety and are engaging.
I also think the quiz generation will be helpful! Somtimes our SMEs write quiz questions so it's nice to have quick ways to edit.
What challenges did you face when trying to get AI to produce the results you wanted?
No challenges in this moment to report - but perhaps that will change when I use the tool for actual development.

- Share 3 changes you made to the Rise AI Course Draft to improve learner engagement. Why did you make those changes to your project? Be specific!
- Changed the tone of the text to be more professional, keeping in mind that this was a manager-focused course.
- Added AI-generated audio to some sections where I felt it would add value and help learners engage with the content.
- Used a lot of relevant images where it made sense. I also tested the Image & Text Convert feature, which worked really well and helped make the content more visual and engaging.
- Which AI feature or capability was most valuable in your workflow, and why? Did anything about it surprise you?
- The Image & Text Convert feature was probably the most valuable. It eliminated the need to create an image prompt, copy it, and then generate an image separately.
- The AI audio feature was also very useful. There are many voices to choose from, making it easy to select a tone and voice that fits the audience and content.
- I also found several other AI features helpful, such as generating quick knowledge check questions from a paragraph and suggesting different interactions to make the course more engaging.
- What challenges did you face when trying to get AI to produce the results you wanted?
- I had some difficulty creating multiple quiz questions. If I already had one question and asked for another, the AI would sometimes generate a very similar question instead of something new.
- I wanted to make the knowledge checks more engaging, but the AI converter currently offers limited interaction options, which restricted some of the ideas I wanted to implement.
- JennieHartman-ePeer Guide
This looks really good and has the same look and feel to it for the user. I like how you changed the fonts and pointed out the key phrases. You might in the future have some audio added in places so there isn't so much to read. But great job!!

Share 3 changes you made:
In lesson one, instead of a list of the key concepts I made that a flash card activity so the learners could take their time in actually reading each of the concepts.
I added a hook (question and fact) to the lesson one and three introduction paragraphs to get the learners attention.
In lesson two, I asked the AI assistant to add a story hook to the introduction and then used that as a script for the AI audio for a different media for the learner
Overall I highlighted the intro paragraph in each lesson and converted to a one sentence AI image prompt then edited the abstract painting style to something simplistic and color palette that matched my theme. I also chose to tint some of the blocks with quotes to make them stand out more
Which AI feature or capability was most valuable?
I think the most valuable feature is being able to adding a hook to the content as well as being able to convert anything into something interactive to keep the learner engaged. I also really like that you can tell the AI assistant what type of question you want and it can create it.
What challenges did you face?
Like others the image prompts took a little bit of trial an error for me, but I found that taking one of the premade styles and then altering proved to be helpful. I adjusted one of the illustrations to include my company's colors for company specific trainings that I have to create in the future. (not seen in this course because I jumped at the chance to use pink😁)
- LA_CBCRCCommunity Member
I love the pink and the general feeling of the images - very representative of the topic: joy!
- CherylMacLeod-8Community Member
I love your color them and the images are so cool! My one suggestion would be to add some more images and colored backgrounds as this is a text heavy course. You could easily add images to the flip blocks using the AI image prompter and have them include the text. Really nice eye-catching course!
- TaushaLarsen-bbCommunity Member
I love the pink as well and the pink contrasts in the images to tie it in! I have not used a lot of pink and tend to shy away from it, but it gives a warm feeling so I may try to use this more. The images are fun! I love how you added a summary section as well. Great job!

Hi all
It's been a slow work week, so I took advantage of that to work on this course.
Here's the link to my course which is in a Pop Art Comic Book Style (navigation is unlocked):
Building Happy and Fulfilled Teams: A Guide for New Mangers CAM
Share 3 changes you made to the Rise AI Course Draft to improve learner engagement:
ONE: I decided to have some fun & do something in a completely different style than any of our clients would ever ask for. This is meant to be a bright, eye-popping colorful course to draw the learner’s interest. I replaced most of the images in the course using this custom AI image style Pop Art Comic Book Style in AI image generator. Here is the custom style image I used for the AI image generated in the course:
Pop Art Comic Book Style: “A digitally created pop art-style comic illustration. The background is radial burst pattern. The overall style is reminiscent of 1960s comic book art, characterized by bold outlines, bright colors, and exaggerated expressions. The textures are smooth, and the colors are vibrant, creating a lively and dynamic composition.” (In many instances I tried to prompt it to not include text but sometimes I did want text.)
Disclaimer: I also did use some Adobe Stock images -mainly the background stuff -and did some editing in Photoshop or using Microsoft CoPilot since it allows me to provide a reference image and dictate changes. I’d love it if Articulate AI image generator allowed us to provide reference images!
TWO: I used the Hook Technique with AI for the opening of each lesson.
THREE: I added AI audio for the opening section of each lesson as well. (We don’t normally use audio in Rise courses since you can’t animate the text to come in with the audio – just makes for faster course development too.)
FOUR: I also added a course summary so it was separate from the last lesson and would stand out more.
Which AI feature or capability was most valuable in your workflow, and why? Did anything about it surprise you?
What I found most valuable this time was the AI custom image style and the AI image prompt generator (which I didn’t know existed before this course). I’d used the AI image generator many times but was unaware of the AI image prompt generator. I like to use color and graphics and having AI image prompt and image generator in the tool saved me a lot of CoPilot and Photoshop time. Having the custom style available was super helpful for this course as well.
What challenges did you face when trying to get AI to produce the results you wanted?
It did not understand that on the flip cards I wanted a white border. I’d have preferred the white borders on that flip card section to be all the same size but that was a pipe dream. I was happy to finally get a white border. Also prompting for no text on the image did not always work and sometimes the AI labelled the names of the people or duplicated text - typical AI image stuff. Of course, there were also the typical backwards papers or computer screens or weird text in the text bubbles too.

Hi Cheryl! Great work on this course. 👏
- Share what you liked about their course structure or content
- I really liked the fun, unique design of the course. It's not something you see in every eLearning course, and it helped keep the content engaging and enjoyable to work through.
- Call out an effective use of AI Assistant
- Nice use of the AI image/prompt generator! I was new to that feature too, and I've found it really helpful for creating visuals that support the content. I often use is ask the AI to generate images without any text, which usually gives cleaner images that fit better into the course design - but I loved the text in the flip cards in your first lesson.
- Offer one suggestion to make the course even stronger
- One thing you might try is using AI to help break up some of the larger blocks of text into smaller sections. I've found learners are more likely to read and engage with content when it feels easier to scan rather than looking like a big wall of text.

Below is the answer to the three questions:
1. Share 3 changes you made to the Rise AI Course Draft to improve learner engagement. Why did you make those changes to your project? Be specific!
Answer: I have done multiple changes in the course more than 3 honestly. Here are some of them:
- Adding Custom Blocks for top headers - makes it more pleasing to view and registers the topic of the lessons
- Created a scenario-based story and added AI audio narration for it - makes it interesting to listen to a story while learning a course, especially the one which is more factual based.
- Created AI quiz at the end of course, but also AI knowledge check at the end of lessons to make it as a check point of lesson completion.
- Used AI image creation for all course images and also for certificate - makes it more interactive for the person taking the course
- Used AI Convert to create interactive block - used in lesson three
- Used AI rewrite for creating an analogy in lesson three introduction
- Created a conclusion section for adding summary and key points again with certificate for course completion.
2. Which AI feature or capability was most valuable in your workflow, and why? Did anything about it surprise you?
Answer: Using AI to rewrite and change the lesson content was very helpful. The analogy created by it was really accurate and easier to understand. Another feature was AI image generation and AI audio narration. The audio narration was very apt for conversational story telling. I also tried the beta brands feature and I like it.
3. What challenges did you face when trying to get AI to produce the results you wanted?
Answer: Main challenge I faced was creating custom block templates and using custom blocks. It is a bit tricky to figure out. Another was spelling errors in image generation, had to re-do it multiple times to get a correct one with no errors. Understanding prompts is also a bit tricky and requires multiple testing and trials.
- MargaretMcGeeCommunity Member
This is a such a strong example! I really like the use of images and the garden metaphor. I think the AI image generation is really strong, the content and flow is engaging. One suggestion for improvement might be to determine of AI can be used to help spell check the TOC, as "Knowledge Check" had a typing error.
- Madhavi96Community Member
Thank you so much for your lovely words. Yes, I will ensure to do a spell check as well.

Hey Group 2! 🤩 I had a lot of fun participating in these activities and I've learned a lot, thank you for this opportunity! Here's my course: https://share.articulate.com/b4Ta_5zBmJbOzE-ctYAVM
1. I made many changes to the course, but here are 3 of my AI favorites:
- I used AI to bold key terms in theme color in course description, in each lesson's intro text, and the Quiz's Title Screen. The visual emphasis helps learners spot important concepts more easily and reinforces terminology throughout the course. It also serves as a visual cue that the learner is at the "start" of a new topic/lesson.
- I used AI to apply the "hook" strategy covered in the "Tips & Tricks: How to Get the Most Value Out of AI Assistant" Rise course to the course description and Lesson 1's intro text. By creating curiosity and highlighting the value of the content at the beginning of the learning experience, learners are more likely to stay engaged and motivated to continue.
- Quiz and Knowledge Check feedback was updated using AI to provide helpful explanations instead of relying on “correct” or “incorrect” labels, which was covered in the course mentioned above. This approach turns each question into a learning opportunity, helping learners better understand the content and stay engaged.
2. It's hard to pick just one! The Instant Convert feature has been the most valuable because it lets me quickly explore different ways to present content without constantly copying and pasting.
I was also surprised by how well the AI Assistant generates knowledge checks. I'd never tried that feature before, but the quality of the questions impressed me, and it's something I'll definitely use in future courses.
3. One challenge I encountered was applying theme colors to bolded key terms. When I used AI to format the text, it didn't apply my custom theme color and instead used the last default theme color I'd selected, so I had to update the color manually.
I also found that after a quiz was generated, AI Assistant couldn't update all the feedback options at once. Instead of editing each feedback message individually, I regenerated the quiz and included my feedback requirements in the initial prompt, which was a more efficient approach.
- JennieHartman-ePeer Guide
I tend to go back to the overall settings of the course and check the fonts and colors right before I post it. :) As I have noticed the same thing. This looks great! Nice job
- mpearlswigCommunity Member
Hey everyone! Here is my submission. I had to resist going too far. I had a lot of fun with the AI image generator. I hope you like it.
3 Changes I made.
- I added AI custom images
- I added introduction hooks
- I added an AI generated scenario for an audio block.
Which AI feature or capability was most valuable
I found the tone adjustment very helpful. Writing is definitely one of my weaknesses. This tool helps me express my thoughts clearly with the correct emphasis.
What challenges
My biggest challenge came from me trying to get the AI to do things outside of Rise's current capability.
- delaneyIOKCommunity Member
Love your images, they flow really nicely throughout the course! It is especially cool on the flashcards, makes them a bit more exciting and makes the learner want to flip through them. I also enjoyed your placement of audio. One thing that I do like to use in my content is the divider feature (specifically continue buttons) because I think it helps people take a second to pause and read or do the activities. In this course, I also learned you can set the continue buttons to lock until the above action is complete, which depending on how critical the information could be a necessary tool. Great work!
- mpearlswigCommunity Member
Great idea! I have used dividers in the past. Thank you for your feedback on this.
- LA_CBCRCCommunity Member
Hello group, here is my project:
I worked on all the lessons, mainly on presentation and engagement.
https://share.articulate.com/NfSQZqpMExatGQTItKPI8
Share 3 changes you made to the Rise AI Course Draft to improve learner engagement. Why did you make those changes to your project? Be specific!
- Used Instant Convert to have more interactive blocks, to engage the learner
- Asked AI to write shorter more simple texts, to make sure learners will read everything and understand easily
- Asked AI to present the questions as scenarios in Knowledge checks and the Quiz, so learners can transfert the situation to their reality
Which AI feature or capability was most valuable in your workflow, and why? Did anything about it surprise you?
-
- I loved the AI suggestions to make the text shorter, simpler, better. English is my second language, so it's always a plus to have some help.
- I enjoyed creating a custom image look and feel - I can surely use that to create a specific design and ambiance for each module I build.
What challenges did you face when trying to get AI to produce the results you wanted?
-
- Sometimes AI does not understand the prompt OR simply cannot do it? (Ex: add an image to the top of each card.)
- Taking advantage of all the possibilities will come in time.
- BelleHabsCommunity Member
How did you get rid of the Start button?
- LA_CBCRCCommunity Member
It's an option in Theme, at the bottom of the possible layouts - just turn the button off.
- JennieHartman-ePeer Guide
I so appreciate the branding tools, along with the shortening tool. Totally agree! Nice job!

1. I added a reflection module to help close the course in a more meaningful way. After learners explored the core content, I wanted them to pause and think about how they would apply what they learned in their own leadership approach.
2. I added images to text-heavy interactive tabs. This helped make the content more visually engaging and easier to scan, especially in areas where the learner could otherwise feel like they were reading too much at once.
3. I added continue blocks to break up the content. This created a better flow through the course and helped prevent learners from feeling overwhelmed by too much information on one screen.
If this was a course I was going to publish, I’d also lock navigation to pace the learner through the course at the menu and divider block level.
2. The most valuable AI features for me were instant convert, image creation, and voice generation. Instant Convert saved time by letting me quickly change an interaction after seeing it in context, rather than rebuilding it manually. It also helped me test different formats to see which created the best learner experience.
Image creation was also useful because it helped me generate visuals that aligned with the course content instead of relying on stock images or searching for the perfect one.
AI Voice will be great for when stakeholders may not want to record themselves or don't have the time to work with me to produce it.
3. The biggest challenge I faced was getting AI to rewrite text in a very specific way or add content that matched the exact tone and purpose I had in mind. Of all the great AI components in Rise and the time savings they all give, I’ll likely spend the least amount of time asking it for rewrites, versus generating the initial outline, images, audio, etc. Since my field (legal) is usually quite specific, it's faster if I just make the specific wording changes myself. Compared to starting from scratch, I'm excited to be able to spin things up on a shorter timeline.
- JennieHartman-ePeer Guide
Nice Job! You changed the fonts and colors! The flow was very nice, along with the consistent look and feel. Don't forget to add audio to shorten the amount the learner has to read :)
