The instructions say to click ANY of the lessons and do the list of things. Does that mean we can just do one lesson and not touch the others?
- lane_jacolePeer Guide
MoniqueGuggi738 Just 3 modifications throughout the course are needed, but feel free to play around and modify in the course as much as you like.
- JBHillCommunity Member
I think so, but to be safe I just did a few modifications in each lesson.

Here is my course! The three changes I made were:
- Inserted some AI images to make the course more engaging
- Added a custom block with audio!
- Added in knowledge checks to ensure learners would leave the course with a better understanding of the material.
The AI audio feature is the most valuable. I work mostly in Storyline and it cuts down on the creation time significantly. Especially now that there is the AI course assistant in Storyline too!
The biggest challenge is getting the right AI image to generate. I've learning that you just need to be as specific as possible. I didn't know that you could have a AI image prompt based off of a text block so that has been super helpful!
- lane_jacolePeer Guide
ErinFitzpatr299 Nice work with your course! I like your use of images throughout. AI image prompting definitely takes some finesse along with lots of trial and error!
- TimHillierCommunity Member
Very nice Erin.
I noticed that you had the same matching question on the 4 pillars. I ran into an issue there were it initially made me a multiple choice question but the answers were the answers for a matching question like A-1, B-3, C-2, etc. I tried to change it to matching from the AI prompt but had to delete it and recreate a question. Not a big issue.

Hello all!
This course did a great job of helping me explore how far Articulate has come with the AI functionality, in a fun way with easy to follow tutorials and hands on.
Here is my submission.https://share.articulate.com/K_r2HEVe2SDMTCvX7mUV3
Changes made in addition to the specified changes: (will just list a few since I made more than 3!)
- Changed theme colors
- Added a course summary
- Played with AI Editing in most blocks to "make shorter," "make simpler," "make an emotional connection", "convert to (a different layout/style of block)," etc.
- Used a variety of image types (check out the image at the top of Lesson 2 where I created a custom style)
- Changed feedback
Most valuable AI feature:
Hands down, the most valuable feature is being able to upload documents, tell Rise how to use each document, and then watch it do it's magic to create a Rise course with different interactions and populated content.
Challenges:
A little challenging remembering which AI access point, brought you to which features/prompts. Nothing that more practice won't cure.
I have since been using the AI Editing feature for real life content. Achieving the right level of detail and length for my detailed content is harder than to the sample project.
Thanks for the opportunity to be part of the cohort.
Enjoyed the hands on play!
JenHey Jennifer! I hear you about the more detailed the content the harder it can be for the AI to make the "right" calls with some of its edits. I feel like the directionality sometimes affects it more, it seems to have an easier time parsing down than expanding back- have you noticed that with your content?

- Share 3 changes you made The changes I made were focused on practice with the available Ai tools and not so much ID principles.
- Which AI feature or capability was most valuable The improvements made within Storyline for text-to-speech and syncing will be invaluable to my daily workflow.
- What challenges I had a few issues with text-to-speech changing the voice I chose. from the Ai list.
RachelDuguay-31 I like the collage-style visuals in this course they work really well to create variety and maintain learner attention. I also liked the use of the scenario with conversation bubbles, it adds a realistic, relatable touch that helps make the content feel more interactive and learner-centered. Nice!!!
- MariaGarrityCommunity Member
Yes! The scenario visual and audio here was well used. Definitely adds some good learner engagement!
- lane_jacolePeer Guide
RachelDuguay-31 Agreed that syncing will be a huge time saver!
When the text-to-speech changed voices on you, was it a different voice from the list entirely, or did it change between v2 and v3 of the same voice? That has happened to me before when a new version of a voice was released after I had already used v2 previously.

This cohort and the lessons were very helpful!
- Share 3 changes you made to the Rise AI Course Draft to improve learner engagement. I added a custom block (key takeaways) to help summarize information and added the AI audio. I used the instant convert block (my favorite!) to change text into tabs and add AI images to each tab to enhance the overall learning experience.
- Which AI feature or capability was most valuable in your workflow, and why? Did anything about it surprise you? As mentioned earlier, the instant AI convert is my favorite because it makes the course engaging but also helps save build time!
- What challenges did you face when trying to get AI to produce the results you wanted? This was a good opportunity to practice more with the AI prompts, I really appreciated the suggested prompts! But sometimes the writing took a few suggestions to really get what I was looking for.
- lane_jacolePeer Guide
KatieDawkins isn't that instant convert block a really great time saver?! I totally agree that prompt writing takes a few tries sometimes to get the tool to fully cooperate! Lots of trial and error at times.

I have not been able to get the AI to change the color of the bold words in Practice 4. Did anyone else have issues? It's weird. It shows the changes in preview but not while editing....

Same
- MariaGarrityCommunity Member
I had the same issue as well!
Hi MariaGarrity and MoniqueGuggi738! I also ran into the same issue. I suspect the AI text editor changed sometime between when we recorded that tutorial video and today. I'll look into it!

I love the AI Audio feature. I use it in everything.
I also used the AI quiz feedback generator which is very handy and a great time saver.
Finally, I did not know about the carousel lock feature! (Divider lock) That will be very useful. One thing I wish the flashcard image feature included is the ability to split the flashcard image with text. Or include it as an overlay. I'm sure I'll have use-cases in the future, but not have the text in the 'front' of the card is certainly a want.
- lane_jacolePeer Guide
RobGibson-25619 I also love AI audio and use it daily. Do you have a favorite voice?
If I'm reading your comment correctly, you'd like the ability to add both text and an image to one side of a flashcard (because it's either/or right now)? In the past, I have used the workaround of creating images in an outside program that include both a text title and an image. Then I would download them as a single image to upload as the cover for a flashcard.- RobGibson-25619Community Member

Here is the link to my course.
Some of the changes I made to the course was using AI to to create image prompts, the instant converter, and the tone of the content. I decided to change the images using the 3D animation style because it is not a style I would normally use and I wanted to see how it can change the look of the course.
I really found the capability of AI creating image prompts based on the content selected because I am both still learning for the right image prompts needed or because I am not typically the subject matter expert for the courses I develop so this allows me to come up with image ideas quicker, making me much more efficient.
A challenge I faced was when I created an AI image in an image block and wanted to use the image in another block but was unable to save it. Instead I would have to regenerate the image prompt and create a new one.- ShimellHCommunity Member
StephanieDiaz-e I really enjoyed this course overall. The visuals and color choices made it feel engaging and easy to follow, and I liked how the information was presented in a clear, organized way. The images added an extra level of engagement for me and helped keep my attention throughout the course. I also appreciated how clean and professional the layout looked, which made the content feel less overwhelming and more enjoyable to move through. The pacing of the course worked well and kept me interested from section to section.
One suggestion I’d make is to add a short quiz at the end to reinforce the key takeaways and make the learning experience even more interactive. I think that would give learners a chance to reflect on what they learned and help the information stick even more.
- lane_jacolePeer Guide
StephanieDiaz-e Great idea to play around with some image styles outside your comfort zone. This is the perfect place to do that. I agree, there really is a distinct learning curve with the AI image prompt generation. When I was learning this tool, I actually outsourced some prompting from other AI sources to start. The one tip that helped me the most from the Tips & Tricks course was saving those prompts in a document or a different Rise course to use again in the future!

I changed the objectives in The Manager’s Role in Mental Health from flashcards to providing more information to learners. I also added a Hook to the intro paragraph to make it more dynamic and engaging. And added a manager persona with audio on how he manages mental health and keeps a good work/life balance, because real-world scenarios always help with understanding. I would say the challenge I faced was choosing the custom blocks; there are so many options, and I'm excited to put them to work.
- aghearstCommunity Member
I also used a hook in one of the lesson intros, really like that addition. I have come to absolutely love Customer Blocks and while the templates are great, I tend to create my own layouts. My advise to you is, go in with an idea of what you want layout wise and make it!
- lane_jacolePeer Guide
BrandyGreen-3fa Thanks for sharing your example. I liked your persona highlight with the audio. What a great idea to bring in a real-world example and a great way to switch up the content presentation for the learner! And I agree, it can become hard to make a selection when there are so many options to choose from.

This was an incredible experience. I learned techniques that will save me a significant amount of time. The ability to generate content from almost anything, have a subject matter expert review and approve it, and then seamlessly build it out for further review is truly impressive.
I also really appreciated being able to guide the AI on formatting, which eliminates the need to constantly adjust branding elements like color. The final exercise was especially enjoyable—I found myself exploring all the lessons and actively applying what I had learned. Here is a link to my Rise project
One challenge we have experienced is that the AI isn't very good at acronyms in Accounting. We have to spell things out phonetically so they are pronounced correctly. But it does give us a good giggle!! 🤩
Can you guess our company color?
- JenniferEason-2Community Member
What a fun company color!
Loved your imagery and simplified content and flow.- JenniferEason-2Community Member
JennieHartman-e I also liked how you rounded the "Continue" divider. You taught me something new today!
In your first lesson, this section has 4 flip-to-reveal cards.
If you're like me and find Rise's configuration of 4 cards odd (and distracting for those with OCD tendencies), here's a helpful tip for you...
Create two blocks of 2 cards each (4 cards total). Reduce the block padding between the blocks. It will look like this below. (From the learner's POV they will not know these are 2 separate blocks.)
- lane_jacolePeer Guide
JennieHartman-e So glad you found this useful right out of the gate! I agree with you about the AI formatting – I had no idea that AI could adjust those things when I first started as well. What a great time saver trick to start using right away!
I also have a lot of acronyms in my field, and we have had some *seriously* challenging words to get AI to say correctly. I feel the frustration! I've gotten pretty good at phonemic tricks. The voices do seem to just be getting better and better as time goes on, so I'm sure improvements will keep coming. - ShimellHCommunity Member
Purple, one of my favorite colors. I really like your use of this color in your project. You came up with some really cool images too. It's really inspiring seeing the different variations of course development using the same content materials.👏
- JennieHartman-eCommunity Member
i used styles that the network would never let me use - just to have fun and try something different. But you are spot on about the PURPLE!! Thank you for the compliments!!
