What surprised you: I was surprised at how well the image generation adhered to the styles selected. I really liked the 8-bit images.
What challenges: Practice 5 - avoiding cookie images. Even when the prompt indicated "No images of cookies or other baked goods" it still included images of chocolate chip cookies. It really was a matter of trial and error. I experimented with "- cookies", "sans cookies", "no cookie images", etc. - JessicaDieltzCommunity Member
Which AI Assistant feature felt most intuitive or useful to you during the practice activities?
The most intuitive and useful AI Assistant feature during the practice activities was the ability to convert content blocks instantly. This feature made it easy to experiment with different types of learner engagement without having to manually rebuild content.
What surprised you about how AI handled text or media generation?
It was surprising how quickly and accurately the AI could generate both text and media based on simple prompts.

Which AI Assistant feature felt most intuitive or useful to you during the practice activities?
The Rise video was very helpful this week. I have been using AI Assistant for a while, but there were several tips and tricks I was not aware of. Two that I know will be very useful to me relate to creating courses and editing part of a block. When creating a Rise course with AI, I have always just uploaded my source files and then generated my course. I did not realize that you could specify the purpose of each file through source material settings. This will help align the initial Rise course with desired outcomes and hopefully minimize edits. I also was not aware that you could use AI Assistant to modify part of a block. Whenever I wanted to edit part of a block, I would duplicate the block, remove the extra information, and then select AI Assistant at the block level. Seeing all of the options available when highlighting text will be a big timesaver.
What challenges did you face when trying to get AI to produce the results you wanted?
I like using flipcards, but I have always wanted more customization options on the front side. For example, I would like to have a solid background with text on top. The only way I know to do that consistently is use another program to create solid color images with the desired text and then upload. I thought maybe using AI prompts would give me a workaround. However, I am still struggling with AI generation consistency. The font doesn’t always look the same and the background color (even with the same hex codes) sometimes looks different. It would be great to be able to modify all of the cards to look the same (whether that is with AI or additional customization settings within the block).

I see no challenges but opportunities. The real challenge is to come up with the right mix and progression for the use of these tools. I love it.

The sound effects were something new for me. I did not know they were there. Is always exciting to be updated in Storyline use. It is interesting and accurate how the prompting works and the options it generates. One word makes big difference.

What challenges did you face when trying to get AI to produce the results you wanted?
I have found that the AI image generator sometimes shows the same person multiple times, might include an extra finger or arm, or shows multiple people in the same clothing, so I always double-check. Just like humans, AI makes mistakes as well, which is to be expected.

Which Rise AI editing tools did you find most valuable, and why?
I really liked the Convert a Block and the Create a quiz features. Convert a Block saved me time because I could quickly change layouts without rebuilding content from scratch. It gives me a great, quick place to experiment and see what I like best.
The create a quiz tool was also helpful since it gave me a solid starting point for quiz questions that I could build using the existing content. Just these two features are saving me hours and hours of time I do not have which is invaluable

1. Which AI Assistant feature felt most intuitive or useful to you during the practice activities?
The most useful editing tools for me were the shorten and rewrite tools – I tend to be long winded, but it’s important to be succinct and direct when creating microlearning and/or putting text on slides
4. What challenges did you face when trying to get AI to produce the results you wanted?
I found I wasn’t being specific or detailed enough in my promoting. Once I figured out the necessary level of detail needed to get the AI to produce what I wanted it got easier every time.

- I really like the AI text-to-speech and captions generation in Storyline. This alone is going to save my team hours of manual caption generation work.

- I thought the Generate AI Image Prompt from Text was valuable. You can quickly get thematic images for your course.

The AI Assistant feature that felt most intuitive and useful for me is probably the Instant Convert tool. This really speeds things up and allows for quick testing of different formats. I do wish there was an option to turn the AI content generation on/off, as it is most common for me to keep the material as-is.
Some of the fun output of the image generator was a bit surprising. I asked it to apply a psychadelic 1970s Scooby Doo style to some of my images and it didn't disappoint.
Having the option to quickly create key points is a valuable editing tool. I do wish there was a built-in prompt to create a parellel sentence structures, as this can take a bit of time to do manually, although this prompt can easily be created.
Image generation in general remains a bit challenging--a significant amount of trial and error can be needed to get close to the desired image. I do appreciate the improvements that have been implemented in this feature though!
