Week 2 Discussion

Welcome to the final discussion of the cohort! You’ve created your AI Course Draft in Rise and applied what you learned about AI Assistant. Now it is time to showcase your work and reflect on your experience.

🤩 This is your chance to show off your work!
  1. Copy the Quick Share link to the AI Course Draft you created in the Week 2 Hands On Challenge and paste it in a reply to this discussion.
  2. Below your Quick Share link, answer these two questions:
    • What’s one AI technique you learned in the Week 2 Guided Practice Activity that you plan to apply right away in your current projects?

    • Where did the AI course draft generation add the most value to the course-building workflow, and where did you need to step in with your own expertise?

After you post, take a few minutes to look at your peers’ courses and reply to at least one other post. You might:

  • Share what you liked about their course structure or content
  • Call out an effective use of AI Assistant
  • Offer one suggestion to make the course even stronger

This is your opportunity to showcase your work and learn from how others are using AI Assistant in their own designs!

I definitely plan to use the Hook Strategy concept as I found this to be a super easy and impactful way to make my content stand out right from the beginning. I also enjoyed employing the fact that I could change the tone of that hook as well as make it shorter. I even played around with adding jokes in the hook and I was impressed how well that turned out.

Where this course added the most benefit to my flow was a general understanding of how much I can now do in Rise, that I was previously manually creating. I appreciated the ease of being able to create a consistent feel, flow, voice and tone/mood of the course when using the AI generation tools. The AI-image generation and the ability to keep my content consistent with the tools was a fabulous gain for me. I did not really find that I needed to step in with my own experience for this cohort as I was engaged and plugged into what was being presented. I can see myself employing a lot of these concepts and then digging into what else I can achieve by using my own creation skills and ingenuity combined with what the AI-generation tools will offer me as a content creator. Thanks!!!!!

Yes! I love the "hook strategy" feature. It helps out tremendously with creating a scenario and other ways of making the course more engaging.

Great job, Tim! I agree with you that the hook strategy is simple and effective. I like the use of it in your course. I also like your country western theme pictures (I am from Montana). Are these created using a custom image prompt? Would you mind sharing the prompt if it was custom? Thank you!

Thanks so much! Yeah, I'm a songwriter as well and out of place living in CT, haha, but I wanted to have some fun with the exercises. Absolutely, here is the prompt I used. For the first lesson, I believe I used the "Description" that was recommended for the lesson which was: "

"As a new manager, your ability to foster happiness and fulfillment within your team is a powerful driver of success. In this lesson, we’ll explore what truly makes teams feel valued, engaged, and motivated at work. You’ll discover why happiness and fulfillment matter—not just for individuals, but for the entire organization—and how you can lay the groundwork for a thriving, resilient team environment."

Then I used a Custom style with the following prompt: "western, country, mountain, old west, sunny, tumbleweeds, warm and dusty"

Then in lesson two, I changed the description up a bit and used "In this lesson, you will gain valuable skills and insights to help your team flourish by linking their work to a deeper sense of purpose. Diverse team gaining valuable skills on the farm or on a ranch" - while using the same prompt from above without changing it. I liked how the AI assistant kept the same look and feel as the learning content suggested it would do.

I did the same for lessons 3 and 4 where I changed the description up a bit but always used the same Custom Style and the same prompt.

    • What’s one AI technique you learned in the Week 2 Guided Practice Activity that you plan to apply right away in your current projects? I plan to use the Open with a hook strategy while incorporating the formatting of key words.
    • Where did the AI course draft generation add the most value to the course-building workflow, and where did you need to step in with your own expertise? I found value in getting the framework in place and flow semi together while helping fill in some of the "brain work" for coming up with more creative ways of saying things. My expertise was more on simplifying, using AI to help with engagement options I may not have considered, trying to adjust visuals/rework text.

      • I plan on using the AI summary at the end of my courses moving forward. The AI feature makes it easier to edit the summary and change the tone of the course before the next lesson.
    • Where did the AI course draft generation add the most value to the course-building workflow, and where did you need to step in with your own expertise?
      • The most value was in the development and flow of the lessons. I found that I needed to step in to create more interactive blocks and generate additional images.

I really like the use of AI for the images in several areas. They were very inclusive, bright, and visually appealing drawing my attention and helped tell the story.
