10 point Likert scale

Mar 28, 2023

Hello all,

I'm trying to sort out a way to do a 10 point Likert Scale. I've looked around and I don't see this use case addressed. When I put 10 points in the form view of a Likert scale survey question the radio buttons crush together and I haven't been able to get them to format below the question.

Doing this with button sets for 50 questions is going to drive me loopy!

I need to be able to show the user their scores at the end and setting values for each button set feels daunting.

Thank you,

Jonah

Hi Jonah!

It sounds like you need some help getting your Likert scale questions and radio buttons formatted so they don’t appear crowded on a slide. I can help with that!

The best approach would be:

  1. Create one Likert scale slide and add your questions while in Form View.
  2. Then switch to Slide View, manually resize the text boxes and position the radio buttons so they are not overlapping.
  3. After that you can copy the entire slide, paste it to future slides, and all of your formatting will carry over. You would just need to edit the specific questions.

I made this screen recording to help illustrate that for you!

In regards to your question about setting up scoring slides. I’ve included a sample .story file in my reply that you can use as a reference when building out your course. However, I should mention that repeating the scoring process for fifty slides could become somewhat challenging.

Thanks for reaching out! Please let me know if you have any more questions!

Hi Jonah,

You can do this by just entering a space for each statement in Form View. Then, in Slide View, move your rows of radio buttons down a bit to leave space for the statements. Use text boxes to add your statements.

It's best to bring the "Likert" object in the timeline to the top of the timeline so text boxes are not overlaying any of the radio buttons.

Quick sample attached. (Note that I turned off the visibility of the scale itself in the timeline.)

Hi Jonah!

It sounds like you were looking for the attachments in your e-mail client. However, the attachments in question are located here in this thread beneath the previous posts from myself and Steve Gannon. I've included a screenshot of where to look/download them:

I've reattached both to this reply as well! Please let me know if you were able to download them or have any more questions!
