Audio qualify timeline vs audio editor

Feb 18, 2022

I've encountered two odd things since this week's Storyline 360 update.

The first is there is a sound quality difference between audio editor and the timeline. The audio on the timeline sounds great, but when I open it in audio editor it sounds a bit choppy. It sort of sounds like there is little piece of dust on the needle of a record player. I'm noticing it on slides that have layers.  My co-worker said she notices it on clips longer than 30 seconds.  Neither of us see a difference when previewing or publishing.

The other odd thing - after listening to the audio on the timeline, the cursor jumps back to the beginning of the timeline and starts "playing" again, it triggers the animations but without audio.

Note - we are saving files to the local drive, and we don't have automatic updates turned on.

On the positive side since neither of these issues appear to be impacting the final product, I think we're ok.  I wanted to document this in case we encounter additional issues in the future.
