Blurred to Focused - Easy Peasy
I really enjoyed this challenge; it pushed me to rethink a technique I use often. Normally, I place a semi-transparent black or white overlay (around 25%) on top of a background image to improve text focus while still keeping the visual. This challenge introduced a cleaner alternative.
In my example (two Storyline Content Library slides), the blurred background alone worked well—but converting the image to black and white made the text stand out even more. I also matched the circle shape to black or white for consistency.
The result is noticeably sharper and more focused than my usual approach. It’s a simple technique I’ll definitely use moving forward.
And for the “advanced” photo editing? You guessed it, Microsoft PowerPoint. 🙂 See the demo in action here.
Cheers!
PS: Sometimes the simplest action is the best.
