Displaying a formatted XML feed

Hi, I have an xml feed that I want to display within a Rise course. I can add it using an embed block but I'm not happy with the formatting. Can anyone suggest how I would add it using a code block and then style it so that the dates are displayed on separate lines and the description/'read the article' links are hidden.
