Reflection activity on a shared device

Hi all,

How do you ensure that if a learner is completing a course on a shared device, the reflections made in a code block (that I have intentionally set up to save responses) do not appear in a subsequent learner's course?

So far in testing, it hasn't occurred, but management is concerned about privacy.

      Hi! Currently, they are saved into local storage

        Depends on your implementation, but I'd expect the cookie's ID to be the determinant. Where I work, we use Workday for our LMS and it can return the learner's LMS ID to the course, which if it were me, I would use as the ID for the cookie.

        For example if a user with the employee ID of 123456 were navigating your course, one could save the first reflection response with an ID of 1234561, the second with an ID of 1234562, and so on. And then when the course loaded, the course could load a cookie by affixing the employee ID with the relevant number. The cookies would still technically be visible by anyone savvy enough to seek them out, but at that point they almost deserve it... That general ID schema would eliminate the course loading a cookie that doesn't correspond to the active user though.

        Do you have insight into how that ID is generated?
