Reese Started as an Illustration. Then She Started Talking. Then She Became Real
Meet Reese. She began as a static illustrated character. Then she came to life as an AI avatar. Then she became a real person. All in one 2-minute comic book microlearning.
Built for this ELH Comic Strip Challenge, "You've Got (Too Much) Mail" uses Reese to show a (simplified) workplace email communication issue.
👉 Give it a try and see how Reese transforms along the way!
Tools used: Articulate Storyline · Storyline AI for Narration & SFX · HeyGen · Gemini/Claude · Photoshop · Google Fonts ·
Huge thanks to TomKuhlmann for creating Reese, and DavidAnderson for the challenge that sparked this. 👏

Stephanie Congrats! It's really cool to have used the transformation of an illustrated character into a real person. Did you use the free version of Heygen, or do you absolutely have to subscribe to get this result?

Hi, thanks. I used a paid version but I expect you could get similar results with a free version of this or some of the other video generation platforms and tools.

Hey Stephanie!
Reese is terrific! Great work!
I've been working on something very similar and it does seem to take a village of software to pull these comic style interactions to life. I can identify some was done in storyline and I imagine there were fine touches to images in PS. If you would be so kind to share which portions of the Reese were developed in SL, Gemini/Claude, Photoshop, and even the font you selected that would be helpful to get an insight into what it took for you to create this "you've got too much email."
For example: were some portions created as video then inserted into SL? Of course the buttons allow for branching in SL, but how do you create the intro slide and those that have animated elements? I recognize Hey Gen for AI generated human like Reese (excellent by the way and love using it), but what about her AI avatar?
I don't really have a use for the "you've got too much email" subject, but a bare bones .story file might help a lot of people, including me, get started and/or in my case rethink developing assets.
Thank you for sharing and for being a SUPER HERO!
Best,
Lisa
