AI spelling and grammar
It looks like no one has answered you on this. If you go to the "FIE" tab in the upper left and click on it, you will see a lot of options for your files. At the bottom, almost hidden you find "Storyline Options". It may look grayed out but click on it anyway. When the Storyline Options screen opens you will see spelling, click on Spelling Options. Somewhere near the bottom you should see Main Dictionary Language, yours may be set to English (U.K.). There is a drop down and just reset it to English (U.S.).
That should fix your problem.

It shows English (U.S) but still changes color to colour.

I know it's been a couple of months since you posted this, but were you able to find a solution? I'm encountering the same issue. I checked under File > Storyline Options and I have the main dictionary language set to English (U.S.). I tried to find another setting relating to the AI only but couldn't locate any. TIA!
No, it has not been resolved. I still have to check every time I use the AI Assistant to check spelling and grammar.
