Ai Voice Cloning

Hello,

I am looking to streamline my Voice Over/Closed Captioning process. Currently, I use Eleven Labs for my VO needs and utilize cloning quite frequently. I have the Ai Assistant and noticed that I can use the text-to-speech feature to upload my VO, and it will automatically generate CCs. Which would be so much quicker than manually typing in or copy/pasting my CCs.

I would be hesitant to move to using Articulate for my VOs since voice cloning isn't an option at this point (at least that I am aware of.) I am wondering if there are any tips that people use to streamline their CC process?

  • I find it frustrating that services like ElevenLabs don't offer captions with the audio files you create.

I've used a few different methods, but try and stay out of the Storyline captions editor tool as I find it fiddly to use:

If it's just a few files, I'll convert the output to MP4 (video) and upload to YouTube. I then use the "auto sync" service they have, that allows you to paste in the transcript, and YouTube automatically syncs with the audio and allows you to download in WebVTT, SRT and a few other formats. This is the most accurate, as you are relying on it for syncing only, as you paste in the transcript.

For larger projects, I use VEED which allows you to import audio files. It then automatically creates caption files from the audio (speech to text). This is less accurate, but is good for heaps of audio, but needs more post editing. You can use this service when you need it $37USB p/m for 12 hours of audio.

It would be a great addition to Storyline's AI tools, if they allowed you to past in a transcript and then synced up for you.
