Audio editor does not increase volume

Hi,

I am trying to increase the volume of 16 audio clips in a course, so their volume is level with volume of some videos. However, after increasing the volume 40% in the editor, there is no change in the result, even after saving within the editor.

What am I doing wrong?

I also tried exporting a copy of the course to CD and clicking "Normalize Audio" in the publish settings. This didn't make any difference at all.

Editing volume within Storyline doesn't seem to work. Thoughts? I will need to edit audio outside of Storyline now to balance audio levels.

  • Hi Douglas,

I'm sorry you're having issues with normalizing audio! I would love to troubleshoot this for you! First, I have a follow-up question.

You mention video in your post. Are you looking to normalize the audio in the videos as well?

If that is the case, the Optimize Audio Volume tool doesn't work on videos. It only works on audio files.

    I hope this helps out!

  • I am having the same issue. The AI generated audio in Rise is louder than the AI generated audio in Storyline. The Audio editor doesn't seem to make any significant difference in Storyline when I try to increase the volume. Can someone please assist? Should I submit a support ticket?

You can always export the audio and then use Tenacity (or whatever audio editor you like) to normalize volume across clips.

  • Thank you for your response!  I think I may have found a solution. I opened the audio from the timeline, increased the volume by 100%, and closed/saved. I repeated this several times until it reached the correct volume.
