Guys, I'm very late to the party, but I was looking for a solution to a very similar problem and found this excellent resource. However I can't figure for the life of me what is going on in the file. Can someone explain please how the mask animation is done? I checked all the triggers and animations but the rectangle seems to be static and nothing seems to be related to the path animation that reveals the blue line. Like there was a hidden script window somewhere that I can't find.

And for that matter, how is the signature added? It's not on any layer, neither is it an image or text box.

Noob here. Thanks for any help in advance.

  • Hi, Peter, and welcome to E-Learning Heroes! ✨

I looked at the .story file Saurav shared, and here's what I see happening:

    • The red rectangle is not connected to the blue line. The blue line is an image with a wipe animation applied to it. If you click the animation option on the ribbon, you will see little stars indicating which objects have animations:

    • The red rectangle has an entrance animation and an exit animation. The triggers create a loop (the entrance animation makes it disappear, and the exit one makes it re-appear). The triggers also connect to the Next button, so the blinking happens by making the button disabled and then enabled.
    • The signature is on the Slide Master:

    I hope this helps!

Where did he control the color of the Next button so that it was green?

Maria, thanks so much for the prompt reply. I knew it was something dead simple. I just didn't find it. My assumptions were based on Flash/After Effects methods that obviously don't apply here.
    Much appreciated!

Thank you! Brilliant, simple and time saving instead of doing all the work arounds with variables!

  • Hi Maura,

You can change the default color of the Next button in the player settings under Colors & Effects -> 'Show advanced color editing'. Here's exactly where you can change the color:

    Hope this helps!

    I tried this, it works!

Also how we can trigger this blinking Next button, if there are multiple layers given to that slide?
