border or drop shadow on videos

I think a border or dropshadow option on videos in Rise would be useful.

For videos with a white background first frame, it's hard to see the difference between the video and the page (see embedded image below 'video on white').

I currently change the background for the section, but that doesn't always look good (see embedded image below 'video on gray').

Having a grey/neutral border or a drop shadow or something which let's you see the video frame would be a more visually pleasing option.

  • Thanks for the idea, David! We'll let you know if we add more styling options to video blocks in the future!

  • Adding a +1 for this request. There's a border option for Rise videos when linked from Vimeo, but not for .mp4 upload.

  • +1 This would significantly improve the appearance of videos in our courses and enhance the learner experience.

    Hi,

Currently, the MULTIMEDIA / EMBED block  e.g. used for YouTube or Vimeo videos, has an optional border.

By comparison, the MULTIMEDIA / VIDEO block does not have a border.

Exactly! I'd love to see the optional border on the multimedia > video block. Currently we have to put a gray background behind and it doesn't look as clean.

I agree completely! I frequently use white backgrounds. Right now to add shadows to images or GIF's, I have to put them in power point and extract them. I lose image quality this way. This is a step I would love to no longer need! If there are any other suggestions, I'm all ears.
