Can slide elements be re-used in new slide?
If I carry elements like text and images from a problem slide over to a new slide intended to replace it, do I risk "contaminating" the new slide with the old slide's problems?
Should I build the new slide completely fresh...new text boxes, re-import images, re-configure all triggers?
Thank you in advance...

It depends a bit on what's being carried over but for some assets there does seem to be a non-zero chance problems will carry over. I was just helping someone recently experiencing some undesired behavior with a freeform drag-and-drop slide. Duplicating the slide directly duplicated the problem to the new slide, but deleting the single shape and inserting a new one (and hooking it up to the slide's question logic) resolved it. I also just commented yesterday on a thread where someone reported a trigger with lots of and-or conditional logic worked fine when original but went awry when copied and pasted onto a new slide.
Fortunately the less "logic" attached to things, e.g., triggerless pictures and text, the less the risk of anything carrying over. Can I recommend perhaps duplicating the entire problem slide so you can delete any triggers on the duplicate slide, and then marquee-ing, copying, and pasting the triggerless assets from the duplicate onto a third new slide?
