Can you disable the Try Again layer for a Try It recording?

We want to use Storyline to record software simulations, so a callout says, "Open the Tools menu" and the learner clicks the hotspot and the animation proceeds to the next slide. If they click anywhere else, nothing should happen.

At the moment, I have to save the entire recording as a Try It, then on every single slide manually delete the "Try Again" layer. It seems like you should have a setting somewhere that says, "Don't provide feedback", but even the Try Mode options will only let me remove the Correct option:

Neutral jing is a thing. You don't HAVE to respond just because a user clicks somewhere.

  • Not sure if it's any faster than your solution of deleting the try again layer, but you could just disable the "show layer" trigger to show the try again layer. You'd still have to do this on each slide but it's only one click per slide, as opposed to selecting the try again layer, then deleting, then confirming the delete..
