Cannot Clear Course Menu

I have a course I am trying to publish without the Menu. The Menu box in player is not checked, but every time I publish, the menu appears. I have changed the name of the course, saved in a new location, published in a new folder, nother works.

I am attaching images of my selections and a file I am working with.

I hope you can help. If I have made a mistake, I sure don't see it.

  • Hi JeffreyRiley-9e,

It looks like some of your slides have the Menu option enabled in the Slide Properties (gear icon in the bottom-right corner when viewing a slide):

When that's turned on for individual slides, it can override your overall Player settings—which is likely why you're still seeing an empty menu for certain slides.

Turning off the Menu option for those specific slides should resolve the issue. 🙂

Ron, thanks for the reply. Yes, I knew to do that by selecting multiple slides in properties. With this issue, I also had to do the drop down in Player features, Player defaults and elect Custom for selected slides.

Rachel pointed me in the right direction and thanks for your adding to the solution.

  • Rachel that was the problem. I did not think of checking there as I normally do not use individual settings for slide for custom properties. That obviously happened in this case. It turns out that several slides in this project had the menu checked. Once I cleared all of them, the menu no longer appears.

I knew that the setting would override the player but did not think of this. Your suggestion was right on. Thanks.
