changing the color of visted hyperlinks in a text block

I like the new feature. However, the visited state is not working as intended. I am, instead, getting a very small segment of the underline showing up in the color I selected for the visited state. The rest of it is remaining purple.
See the attached image. Any idea what is going on?
I wound up throwing out the visited states because, in addition to the colors not working, I wound up having to click the text links twice to get them to work. The first click changed them to "visited." The second click actually opened what I wanted.
