Did you ever publish the course to Review? If so, the Snapshots functions would have a copy of the course as it was at that time.
FYI: You can also create a Snapshot of the current version at any time.
In any case, I suggest you submit a case to the support. They may not be able to get your content back, but they need to know about the issue.
Thanks JudyNollet​ . We had a snapshot from earlier that day, but there were changes made throughout multiple lessons in-between then and the time the content was corrupted. So, possibly safer to rebuild if the content can't be recovered, rather than revert all changes.
