Character limits in Storyline 360
Here's an even more bizarre issue: When I publish a SL 360 project with a filename of 39 characters like: "L3B - HSI3x Programming Models and APIs" it publishes just fine UNTIL I insert a Web Object. After I do that, the length of the filename appears to cause the publishing process to crash! After hours of trial and error, I finally determine that if I shortened the filename (not sure what the break over point is) to: "L3B - HSI3x Progr Models and APIs" it publishes just fine! This makes no sense to me and was one of the last things I would have suspected. I was sure it was related to the Web Object, or the long path to its index.html and assets.
What clued me into the filename length issue was when I tried republishing a SL project from a few days ago with a WebObject already inserted, it worked just fine. But when I added today's date "Jan 12" to the end of the published filename to prevent it from overwriting what I did on the 9th, it crashed. I submitted a ticket case# 01272103 related to the publishing crashing issue before I understood this failure mechanism. Hopefully this information helps Articulate Tech Support to get this odd behavior solved in a future release.

Thanks - it turned out to be some limitation with Windows and a 260 character limit. By moving my project and associated Web 😀Object up a few levels, the issue went away.
Carlo was very helpful.
