Setting up Closed Captioning should be the same regardless if you're working on a regular or quiz slide. You can follow this guide to add Closed Captioning to your audio and video files:
I've attached a sample file which contains a slide with a layer, and you can see that even with the layer active on the slide, the Closed Captions would still be visible.
With that being said, if you've already tried setting up Closed Captioning this way and are still encountering issues, would you mind providing more details regarding the challenges you're facing? Are you having trouble making the captions appear for specific sections of your slides?
