Creating a Masked Overlay
Hello! I'm attempting to create a layer for a simulation that will essentially be a template slide. Ideally, I'd like this slide to have a masked overlay. In the screenshot that I've attached, the gray would be the overlay and the "cutout" around the search bar would be the mask. Is there an easy way to do this without creating several partially transparent shapes in SL and adjusting them? Or is that the simplest way to do it? Thanks for any help offered here.

Hi Deanna,
I don't think you can do it 360. You can use PowerPoint's "Shape Format" tab. And use the "Merge Shapes" option. I think someone from Articulate has demonstrated how to use this option. I think you would use the "subtract" option.
I like your design!
Cheers,

Hi Julie,
Thanks for the response. I didn't think there was a way to do it. I will explore the option to use PP's Shape Format tab and see how I can get it to work. Thank you!

PowerPoint Labs has a free download that does this and a bunch of other effects in Powerpoint. Easy to create, then copy and paste to SL.
