CTRL S Opens File Folder

I created a software simulation where the user needs to press CTRL + S to save their note which generates a note ID in the simulation. That part works fine. However, this hotkey combo also opens the file folder on the user's screen, which I do not want. Is there a way to prevent this? See attached recording of the problem.
