Dark Mode?
Hi, is this being looked into? We currently have learners going into dark mode through google using Dark mode on Chrome using ://flags and it doesn't work as intended (see screen shot from a drag and drop). The only way we have found dark mode to work in the interim is if the learner has a Chrome extension called 'Dark Reader' however even then it isn't an ideal experience compared to a native setting in Rise.

Hello,
We have also encountered a similar issue. This discussion thread started 4 years ago, but Articulate still does not seem to offer a Dark Mode for their programs. Is this something that is being looked into and will arrive soon? We use xAPI on Brightspace and our students could not click on any of the buttons to progress in their modules.

Thank you for continuing to monitor this discussion.
I wanted to follow up because this request has now been raised by Storyline users for approximately nine years, with consistent engagement and support from instructional designers, e-learning developers, accessibility advocates, and enterprise customers throughout that time.
At this point, the duration of the request is arguably part of the story itself. Very few feature requests remain active and relevant for nearly a decade. The fact that this discussion continues to receive comments and support year after year suggests that the need has not diminished and cannot reasonably be viewed as a short-term trend.
As authoring professionals, many of us spend the majority of our workday in Storyline. During a typical development project, Storyline often remains open for eight to twelve hours at a time while we work alongside applications such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft 365, development tools, video editing software, and browsers that already support dark themes. The contrast between those modern interfaces and Storyline's bright white workspace remains a significant usability challenge.
I would also respectfully reiterate that Dark Mode is about more than aesthetics. For many users, it directly affects:
- Eye strain and visual fatigue during extended development sessions
- Comfort for individuals with migraines, light sensitivity, or photophobia
- Visual consistency across professional creative and development tools
- Reduced cognitive load when switching between applications
- Improved focus when developing dark-themed or immersive learning experiences
The community has been exceptionally patient and constructive in its feedback. Over nine years, users have continued to explain not only why they want Dark Mode, but how it would improve their daily workflow, accessibility, and overall authoring experience.
Can the product team provide any update on whether a Dark Mode authoring interface is currently being researched, evaluated, or considered for inclusion on the product roadmap?
We greatly appreciate the team's engagement with this discussion and hope that, after nearly a decade of consistent community feedback, this request can move closer to active development consideration.
Thank you for your time.
