Dial will not reset when revisiting slide

Hello,

Attached is a 4 step dial interaction which works as designed. Although, when revisiting the slide, the dial will not reset to it's start value. The graphics are set up as states and reset properly when revisiting, but not the dial. When revisiting, the dial always appears in the position to where it was previously moved.

I've run out of options to try. Any ideas?

  • I came up with a solution which will work. I decided to set the slide to it's saved state when revisiting. This will work just as well as what I was trying to originally do.

Hello, I tried this and it doesn't work. I created a trigger to set the value of the dial back to its initial value, but when revisiting the layer, the rotation of the dial is in the position it was after the initial move. How can I get it visually back to its initial value as well?

        Hi JenniferJack

        Happy to help with this!

Checking Oliver's file, the Dial's Variable is set to 'Group 3'.

I added an Slide Trigger to adjust the variable (set Group3 to value 1) when the Timeline starts on this slide (Slide 1.1).

Now, after a learner adjusts the Dial, and returns to Slide 1.1, the Dial returns to it's initial position (IOM). I've attached a revised copy of the .story file for your reference.

Please let me know if you need anything else!

  • Hi Oliver,

Thanks for popping back into your discussion and sharing that setting the Slide Properties to Resume saved state when revisiting worked. I'm sure this will help others who run into similar situations!
