Drag & Drop Interaction with 2 or 3 attempts
Hi there,
I hope someone could give me an advice for this little challenge: I wanna create a drag & drop interaction with two (or 3) attempts.
If the first attempt fails, the "Try Again" layer should be displayed. After clicking "Try Again," the main layer should return to its original position. To achieve this, I have set "Reset to Initial State" in the settings for both the main layer and the "Try Again" layer. Unfortunately, the main layer is then always displayed as the user last edited it.
Even if the second attempt is incorrect, the correct solution should be displayed. For this, I have edited the "Incorrect" layer accordingly.
I would be very grateful if someone could give me a tip on how to proceed here. Even if I were to allow three attempts instead of two, for example.
Thank you very much in advance!
Kind regards,
Julia

When a graded question (standard or Freeform) allows >1 attempt, Storyline doesn't reset the user's responses. When the Try Again layer is closed, the user will see their previous answer, which can be edited.
If you want to reset the response, you have to do it with triggers. After it explains how the Try Again function works, this post describes how to reset responses.
