Editing audio after adding Closed Captions

Joe- I am in the same boat as this poster (a fellow Sara(h)). What is the right sequence of steps for editing video with captions in order to trim both? I trimmed the video first, then realized the captions did not adjust, so manually deleted quite a few blocks of captions and cannot see how to pull the starting caption to the new playhead. I am working with a recorded training (MP4 file) and a VTT file for the captions. Would appreciate any guidance you can provide to help this process be less painful! Thanks!
